Roai V (midi ballade) by Minas Borboudakis is a 15-minute work for (bass)
clarinet, viola and piano. The principle of the ballade and MIDI technology
merge into one another. Thus, certain musical events are assigned to the
piano keyboard, which are quasi 'switched on and off' while playing on it,
i.e. performed by the two instruments behind the audience, as if from two
loudspeakers. The result is a spatially interactive, flowing trio that
attempts to imitate a sampler. Roai V (midi ballade) was premiered on 23
October 2010 in Ravensburg by Bettina Faiss (clarinets), Christiane Arnold
(viola) and Minas Borboudakis (piano). This edition (EP 14282) is the
performing score of the work.
