Jonathan Doves intimate 12-minute song cycle Three Love Songs, for high voice and piano, was inspired by the real-life romance between acclaimed singers David Rendall and Diana Montague. Setting original poems written by Rendall for his wife, the work was originally composed and performed as a private anniversary gift in 1996. After remaining unpublished for decades due to an incomplete manuscript, these deeply heartfelt songs have finally been made available. A touching and historic addition to the vocal repertoire, ideal for advanced singers and intimate recital programmes.
