These 15 Finno-Ugric songs are easy material for children's chorus, and at the same time they give a taste of the captivating and primeval energy typical of Tormis's music. The impulse for this sequence came from György Kádár who sent Tormis a letter accompanied by manuscripts of Finno-Ugric folk songs. This extensive material provided Tormis the opportunity to extend his work into a cycle covering all Finno-Ugric cultures. The texts are in different languages, and a brief guide for pronounciation is also provided .
